Saint Alejo, known in Spanish tradition as San Alejo and in older texts as Alexius of Rome, is remembered as a holy wanderer who chose a life of humility and solitude in order to hear the voice of the Divine more clearly.

His feast day is celebrated on July 17, when devotees honor his gift for creating distance between the faithful and all forms of spiritual disturbance. In many Latin American and Caribbean communities, this day is marked with quiet prayers, offerings of white candles, and petitions for peace in the home.

Saint Alejo is invoked not for confrontation, but for the gentle removal of obstacles, envy, and harmful influences — a saint whose power lies in separation, clarity, and the sacred protection of one’s personal space.
